New Land Rover Defender is rumbling closer to the launch pad

It seems that the long awaited introduction of the new Land Rover Defender is rumbling ever closer to being reality and launch in 2018. It seems at last this statement is official with the company’s Chief Executive on record as already having driven various prototypes of the model and stating “I have driven test mules already and also tried the car against competitors, in on- and off-road environments. It’s sensational.”

Time will tell if the new vehicle ever reaches the Iconic status that the original Defender model achieved, but with Land Rovers past history of designing and introducing new models, who would bet against it. Obviously, details of the new vehicles are being kept a closely guarded secret and will remain so for some time. Then, when the time is right we will get the drip feed of information snippets and photo’s of the vehicle in various stages of ever decreasing disguise whilst under final testing and as the official introduction date approaches.

We are given to believe that a whole new family of Defenders will eventually be produced with possibly a special SVX vehicle on the cards.

Meanwhile, to start whetting the appetite we publish here the first details that the major motoring press has released.
