542bhp Range Rover Velar SVR to launch next year

The latest addition to the Land Rover Range Rover family, the Velar has recently been announced and is not due to appear on UK roads until the summer of 2017. Well it had to happen, closely following the introduction of the vehicle, a new SVR version will come along early in 2018 with a 5.0-litre super-charged V8 petrol engine developing 542bhp.

This new vehicle has recently been spotted under test at the Nurbürgring in Germany. It is expected that the SVR Velar will have similar weight saving measures to that of the larger Range Rover Sport SVR, saving some 1800kg over the standard model and which will give it acceleration figures of 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds.

Prices for the Velar SVR are expected to start at around £90,000.
