The success story of Land Rover's 'baby' Range Rover Evoque continues unabated. With over 520,000 vehicles sold to date the model is being updated for the 2017MY with a red and black themed 'Ember' Limited Edition joining the ranks.

The new vehicles being developed by Land Rover just keep coming. Hot on the heels of the new 2017 Discovery being seen under test at the Nurburgring in Germany comes the new 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR, also on test in the same location.

The Land Rover story continues to evolve at pace following the passing of the iconic Defender, as the long standing later generations of Discovery, namely Disco 3 and 4 are finally to be replaced with an all new seven-seat version due for release in 2017. The new model has been spotted during testing at the famous Nurburgring in Germany, showing it seems even the most dedicated off-roaders are not immune from the punishing 'Green Hell' treatment nowadays. Land Rover's new Classic Division is going right back to its 1948 roots to restore for sale to the public 25 Series 1 vehicles to the exact original factory specification. They will use Land Rover Classic parts and will be finished in a choice of five colours.

Jaguar Land Rover has posted its best ever March sales with 75,303 vehicles sold, a Record quarter with retail sales globally of 158,813 vehicles and a Record 2015/16 financial year with well over 500,000 vehicles sold. That is a terrific success story for a British company with Jaguar at last showing increasing sales in all markets.

The 29th January 2016, will go down as a very sad day for all enthusiasts of the Land Rover Defender when production of this iconic vehicle came to an end after almost 70 years of production and 2,016,933 vehicles made. Now we all wait with baited breath for the replacement model which was due for release in 2018, but now looks increasingly likely to be 2019.Work carries on at Land Rover under a cloak of secrecy as they do not want too many details of the new model to escape, but we are getting little snippets as to what we can expect in the run up to release date.

If the major motoring press are to be believed (and there is absolutely no reason not to believe them as they are invariably always right and well ahead of the game) we can look forward to some very exciting new vehicle releases in the not to distant future from Land Rover. Rumours are rife that next year we will see a new Range Rover Sport Coupe and later the following year an SVX version of the new Discovery which may, or not, be called Discovery 5. (more…)
