Range Rover plug-in hybrid gears up for 2018 arrival

Land Rover are finalising the testing of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport which is due to be available in early 2018. The petrol-electric models will feature Land Rover’s 2.0-litre Ingenium engine with an Electric Drive Module coupled to an eight speed ZF automatic gearbox. Drastically reduced CO2 outputs will result, making these the lowest taxed vehicles in their line-ups.

With all the recent bad publicity about diesel engines and emissions these new vehicles will be a welcome addition to the range and will please environmentalists no end and save potential owners the threat of higher parking charges (in some locations) and the often talked about Toxin Taxes.
