New Land Rover Defender will be brand’s most high-tech car yet

Well, we think that we have been proved correct. In our post dated 10th October 2016, headed ‘New Land Rover Defender is rumbling closer to the launch pad’ we said that enthusiasts of this classic icon can look forward to a drip feed of further information leading up to the official release of the vehicle. That drip feed is starting to role with an announcement yesterday that the new vehicle could well be the Land Rover brand’s most high-tech vehicle to date. We bet that statement will come as a big surprise to the many who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first vehicle in the Defender Family.

Land Rover is determined to make the new Defender one of the worlds most advanced and capable off-road vehicles, which apparently in different forms are currently being tested around the world in very secret locations.

Apparently, Land Rover intends to expand the Defender’s market appeal by producing both civilised and hard-core versions for it to be sold as a do-it-all vehicle, in the way the old Defender never was. It will feature elements of other Land Rover vehicles (Range Rover and Discovery) in its construction. It will be interesting to see how the aftermarket companies get on with producing their own versions of the new vehicle?

We await more of the information drip feed over the next few months and the first real photographs of the vehicle in various stages of disguise as it undergoes its rigorous testing.
