Initial press reviews of the All New Discovery 2017

Land Rover has now released its All New Discovery, the fifth generation in a long line of the company’s best selling 4×4’s. Not officially known as the Discovery 5, but we bet it will not be long before this new vehicle is given that name by the general public. The New Discovery is a complete change in design when compared to its predecessors, much more streamlined and far from the ‘box’ shape of the earlier and now iconic Disco 3 and 4.

The New Discovery comes with a complete range of new and more efficient diesel and petrol engines all manufactured at Land Rover’s new engine plant in Wolverhampton. It also now incorporates much more engineering technology and driver enhancement systems not seen on the earlier models.

The new vehicle has been available for purchase since late last year but is just now starting to make an appearance on UK roads. Land Rover says sales at extremely good, albeit that a fair number of people are not quite so sure about the new design. However, we believe that like many other Land Rover vehicles before it, the new shape will become totally acceptable for the vast majority of Land Rover Discovery fans and customers.

The motoring press have started to issue their first reviews of the new vehicle, in the most part they are very favourable.

We provide here reviews from Autocar and Auto Express which also give details of prices for the various levels of trim and engine selction, which we hope will be of interest to potential purchasers.

Also, we have recently published on our website a full technical specification for the new vehicle, as issued by Land Rover, which can be viewed by clicking here. We hope that this will give potential purchasers of the vehicle a complete insight as to what they can expect on their new vehicle.
